We are delighted to be able to tell you that we’re busy preparing for the seventh successive Gaelic Shorts Competition, and very much looking forward to another fantastic year.

Last year’s films were of an excellent standard and the judges had no easy task with 76 submissions across the Youth and Open Categories! The Awards Ceremony was a star-studded event at The Old Fruitmarket, with the likes of Greg Hemphill and Catriona Shearer presenting awards.

Last year’s theme inspired some fantastic, strong story ideas which in turn meant the films were entertaining and high-quality, and we’re sure this year’s theme will do likewise.  We are busy working on this year’s them posters at the moment and are looking forward to releasing them with a social media ‘Guess the Theme’ Competition.

Speaking of Social Media, we are now on Snapchat and Instagram as well as Facebook and Twitter, so please add or follow us for some fun over the coming year!

We are also offering our cameras to any community groups interested in making a film for FilmG 2015 over the Summer before the official launch. The equipment is proving popular, being used by Glendale Community Trust, Fèisean nan Gàidheal’s Drama Summer School and others. If you are interested in getting a loan of the equipment, just drop us an email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and we’ll organise something.

Students form the Gaelic Drama Summer School working on their film.
