FilmG is a great opportunity for students to showcase their creative and technical skills, and to add to their CV. Not only that, there’s a £1,000 prize up for grabs, to be spent on equipment or training.

Many past participants return to FilmG as students, but it’s a great chance for those who have never taken part before to showcase their talents too. Matchmaking groups of students is a well-honed skill of ours at FilmG HQ now, so if you’re a student who doesn’t speak Gaelic, don’t let that be a barrier – get in touch and we’ll put you in touch with some Gaelic speakers.

If you have Gaelic and some great ideas, but no idea how to make a film, the same applies!

Remember films must be no longer than 5 minutes in length.

Check out the links below for information on this year's theme and to see some fantastic entries from last year.

If you are in the process of making your film, remember to get signed consent forms from all your contributors. We will need one from you as well in case you are shortlisted and get to be on the Awards Highlights show. They can be scanned then sent via email to or by post to FilmG, Cànan Graphics Studio, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Isle of Skye, IV44 8RQ.
